Michelin has announced the winners of the Michelin Challenge Design contest for the College for Creative Studies (CCS). 13 senior students entered this year's challenge, which carried a theme of "Half! Visitors to the Goodwood Festival of Speed can spend endless hours watching a seemingly endless precession of supercars take on the hillclimb. But one supercar this year will be a bit different. Volkswagen are taking their super slippery, super frugal supercar – the VW XL1 SEV – to Goodwood next month and are planning on taking it up the hillclimb in the capable hands of former F1 champion Jacky Ickx.
Despite the Detroit Auto Show still being in full swing, Kia has given a first look at the all-new Cee'd, set to debut at Geneva in March. Very little detail about the second-generation Cee'd has been released, but externally the car adopts Peter Schreyer's tiger-inspired grille and high-set, wrap-around headlamps. The chrome detailing across the DRG and around the DLO are said to give the car a more premium appearance.
